How can we understand the dynamics of wine awards in Italy?

From a research made in the Veneto region on the most known Italian wine guides (Gambero rosso, Slowfood, Associazione Italiana Sommelier and Veronelli) in 2010 and 2011, it results that around 28000 Italian wines are reviewed each year in the “Bel Paese”. The most important wine guide in terms of information collected is the Veronelli guide with around 15000 labels tasted each year. Generally the Italian wine guide samples reviewed around 80% and 90% red wines versus white wines, sweet wines and sparkling wines.

Piedmont and Tuscany appear as the two- major wine making region of excellence versus the rest of Italy. The main determinants of quality are evaluated by:

aromas for the AIS wine guide
Tuscany for Veronelli
Local grape varieties for Slowfood

Quiz di Esprit Champagne, la classifica finale

Sono Giampiero Nadali, ho chiesto a Delphine Veissiere il permesso di intervenire sul suo blog. Delphine mi ha chiesto di aiutarla nella gestione di questi quiz e nella compilazione della classifica finale.

Devo informarvi che la classifica pubblicata nei giorni precedenti era viziata da molti errori. Mi assumo la piena responsabilità, scusandomi con coloro che si sono visti "soffiare" il premio finale. Ma i dati pubblicati erano sbagliati: purtroppo, sia la fretta che la difficoltà nel "ripulire manualmente" il report finale dai numerosi "tentativi" reiterati da alcuni partecipanti, hanno creato le condizioni che hanno portato alla pubblicazione di una classifica errata.

Ora i dati sono stati verificati con attenzione, i "doppioni" rimossi, gli score aggiornati completamente alla data di chiusura dei quiz (18 aprile 2011).
